BAUM UND PFERDGARTEN – F/W 15

This season Baum und Pferdgarten is taken on a journey to the Moroccan city of Marrakesh where handcrafted and fascinating textiles, carpets and rugs are flowing in from the tribes in the Atlas Mountains.

The scene is set in the 1970s, when Mr Yves Saint Laurent was challenging the rules of high fashion and infusing North African folklore into the wardrobes of European first-movers from his breath-taking residence in “Jardin Marjorelle”. His sublime mix of sophistication and refinement on one hand and rebellious attitude on the other is translated into a modern vision suitable for the urban woman anno 2015.

Monochromatic black and white play a central role in the collection evoking the characteristic Beni Ouarain-rugs of Morocco as boucle fabrics with raw edges, delicate mille-fleur prints on silk chiffon or hairy knit with a very direct reference to the traditional carpets.
